We’re Almost Open for business…

Setting up the common space

Our community space

is starting to take shape!

The lease is signed and Blue Sky Coworking NM LLC is now the proud operator of 3214 Purdue Pl. NE. We’re almost ready to start welcoming people we don’t know to join us as part of what we hope will be an intimate community of creative professionals building impactful things right here in Albuquerque.

Our common space is starting to come together though I’m not sure it will come to life fully until our first art exhibit is hung. Blue Sky Coworking will be sponsoring an Arts & Entrepreneurship Program to support emerging New Mexican creatives. We are working to finalize the details of the program with some of our partners including Harwood Arts Center and Southwest Contemporary.

We are also excited to be the home of the Deciens Capital team. They’ll be taking our private office suite on the second floor. Their team will infuse our space with the ethos of a national venture capital fund. Several other venture backed entrepreneurs are also looking at Blue Sky Coworking as a potential home.

In this interim period while we are working on getting the systems set up to make working from our “home” convenient and inspiring. A friend who works remotely came this afternoon for a quick tour and tried out our phone booth for a call. He was impressed that his booming voice was contained and that it was a comfortable spot. Apparently at his last co-working space they nicknamed the phone booth the “fart room”. It seems unlikely that our “microclimate” bookable phone booth will get that moniker. And we’ll do our best to ensure it is a pleasant spot for a phone call. And it looks quite festive with the Submaterial acoustic made right here in Albuquerque.

Slowly but surely we

are getting the workspaces set-up with all the bells and whistles

That is not to say that we are ready to open our doors to everyone. We are still working to get the AV setup and installing the final fixtures that move what was designed as a residential live-work building into an office. It is quite the adventure. Today we figured out those blue things were micro particle filters that should have been installed in our mini-splits. Thankfully our HVAC partners took care of that and we are up and running.

If you are interested in learning more about coworking our some sort of partnership. Please reach out. And we hope to be open and ready to serve Albuquerque the first week of December.
