Why We Are Opening a Coworking Space in Albuquerque

Bringing a Bit of Bay Areas Design Centric Spirit Home

When I moved back to Albuquerque after almost a decade in San Francisco, one thing stood out immediately: while the city was full of creative, ambitious people, there wasn’t a coworking space that truly reflected the kind of collaborative, design-driven environment I had experienced in the Bay Area.

Albuquerque has no shortage of talent — from remote tech workers and filmmakers to small business owners and entrepreneurs. But I saw a gap especially post-COVID: most spaces focused either on traditional office rentals or community events, not both. My husband and I wanted to create a place where people could actually build together — a flexible workspace that fostered focus, creativity, and real connection.

Finding Opportunity in the High Desert

Albuquerque is in a sweet spot right now. The cost of living is manageable, the creative scene is growing, and more professionals are choosing to stay or return here, just like we did. With the rise of remote work, many people are looking for a third space — not home, not a coffee shop — where they can plug in and be productive.

We realized there was an opportunity to bring some of the coworking energy we loved in San Francisco to New Mexico, but in a way that fits Albuquerque’s rhythm: laid-back, local, and community-centered.

Designing for Connection and Focus

We wanted to build a space that feels inspiring without being overwhelming. That means sunlight, art from local creatives, and a mix of open desks and quiet zones. Collaboration happens naturally when people are comfortable — so the design had to reflect that balance.

Our goal was to make a space that’s not just beautiful, but intentional — one where entrepreneurs can grow their businesses, freelancers can find focus, and teams can connect without the formality of a traditional office. That’s why we worked with the team that has quietly designed much of Los Poblanos’ retail and hospitality expansions over the last decade. They’ve brought that same attention to detail to our new “third space”.

Supporting Local Business and Creativity

Coworking is about more than shared square footage; it’s about shared momentum. We’ve been slowly building partnerships with local businesses, artists, and educators to create a network of support that keeps Albuquerque’s creative economy thriving and carves out a space where venture backed founders can connect IRL.

From monthly meetups to workshops and pop-ups, our space is designed to be a platform for connection — a place where ideas can start small and grow fast.

Looking Ahead

Opening a coworking space in Albuquerque wasn’t just a business decision; it was personal. It’s about helping shape the kind of city we want to live and work in — one that values collaboration, creativity, and community.

Whether you’re new to town, freshly remote, or a lifelong Burqueño with a growing business, we hope our space feels like home — with just a little bit of that Bay Area hustle.
